New Currents Award is given to two best features films selected from New Currents section, the only competitive section of PIFF. The jury consisted of knowledgeable film experts will choose winners with the hopes to encourage continuous endeavor of discovering hidden jewels of Asian cinema. |

| SONJE AWARD |
| This award is given to the best film among the short films in Wide Angle section. Total KRW 20,000,000 (approx. $21,000) is given to the winning director in order to assist him/her produce another masterpiece. |

| WOONPA AWARD |
| A cash award of 10,000,000 KRW (approx. $11,000) is granted to the best Korean documentary film from Wide Angle section, for the purpose of assisting the best production by its director. |

| FIPRESCI Award |
| FIPRESCI Award (Prize of the International Film Critics) is awarded annually at PIFF to a new Asian film from New Currents section for its experimental and progressive spirit by the Association of Internal Film Press. |

| NEPAC AWARD |
| This award is given to the year's best Korean film from either New Currents or Korean Cinema Today sections. NETPAC is an international organization founded in 1990 that is devoted to expansion of Asian film distribution and screening. |

| KNN AWARD(Audience Award)

| Voted by the audiences during the festival, this award is presented by KNN Foundation to the most popular film from New Currents section. $20,000 is awarded to its director.

| Korean Cinema Award
|
| This award is presented to the individuals who have made outstanding contributions in promoting Korean cinema to the film community.

| The Asian Filmmaker of the Year
|
| This award is granted to an Asian film professional with the most outstanding activity in improving and developing of Asian film industry and culture.
