Pusan International Film Festival which has continued to grow with a help of Asian filmmakers launched Asian Film Academy to contribute to Asian cinema in cooperation with Dong Seo University and Korean Academy of Film Arts. Having its forth edition this year, AFA has helped young talents find their identity as Asian filmmakers. AFA has also put its effort to widen world of cinema by providing meeting ground for young and established filmmakers to work together as well as to exchange their thoughts and vision.

Also, with established directors and cinematographers like Nonzee Nimibutr(Thailand), Yu Likwai (China), Darezhan Omirbayev(Kazakhstan), Kenji Takama(Japan), Pen-Ek Ratanaruang(Thailand), Toyomichi Kurita (Japan), Kiyong Pak(Korea), Kisung Hwang(Korea,), Kiung Bak(Korea), Changho Bae(Korea), AFA has become a higher education for filmmaking.

AFA is growing fast with stabilizing its system.
AFA is important project because it is established for Asian cinema and it is run by Asian filmmakers for young Asian talents. AFA is trying to give answers to why Asian cinema is significant in film history and why emphasizing in finding their identities as Asian filmmakers is important. AFA is getting recognition as a program that prepares for the future of Asian cinema.
