Im Kwon-Taek
Born in 1936. Since his first feature film in 1962, Im has made over ninety-four films. Having received several international film awards in the 1980's, he is reputed as the representative Korean director.

His major works include <Genealogy>(1980), <Mandara> (1981), <Kilsoteum>(1985), <Sibaji>(1986),<Aje Aje Bara Aje>(1989) and <Sopyonje>(1993)


Sergei BODROV
Studied at VGIK. Made his debut as film director with . Awarded the Grand Prize for at the 1989 Montreal Film Festival and for at the 1996 Karlovy Vary festival.


Erika GREGOR
A member of the selection commitee of many film festivals including Cannes and special programs for film museums. Artistic adviser at Ciby 2000 on such films as and / He contributed to introducing Asian filmmakers including Lino Brocka, Ritwick Ghatak to the prestigious film festivals.


Pierre RISSIENT
Studied German and French literature, history and philosophy. Co-founder and programmer of the association "Friends of the German Film Archive" since 1963. She is also the programmer for cinematheque "Arsenal". She has organized "International Forum" of the Berlin Festival and the German film retrospectives.


Jhang Yuan
Born in Nanjing in 1963, he graduated from the Beijing Film Academy in 1989. Since his debut in 1990. he made consecutive award-winning features: (1990), (1992), (1994), (1995). His latest feature is (1996). He is also an active MTV producer and director.



 
Max TESSIER

Studied Japanese language and civilization, and English literature. Film critic for several main journals including Le Monde, Positif, since 1965. Specialized in the Asian cinema and wrote numerous articles and books on Japanese film history. A jury member and artistic adviser of film festivals including Cannes.

AHN Seong-Ki
Born is 1952. Ahn graduated from Korea University of Foreign Studies. He began his acting career as a child star of the 1950's and has since emerged as a revered lead actor of Korean cinema today. Some of his film-credits include <Misty Village>, <Mandara>, <To the Starry Island> and <Eternal Empire>


Shu MAEDA
Born in 1956. A graduate of Kyushu University. Maeda established the independent film group. Office Nouvelle Vague. In 1987, he started the Fukuoka Asian Film Festival, in its tenth-year run, which he is currently director of.



KANG Soo Yeon
Born in 1966, she began her career as a child star. In 1986, she won the Best Actress award at the 44th Venice Film Festival for <Sibaji> and in 1988, at the 16th Moscow Film Festival for <Aje Aje Bara Aje>. She was a member of jury at the 1989 Tokyo Film Festival. Recently, she starred in <Their Last Love Affair>(1996).


Chris BERRY
Born in London, Berry studied at Leeds University and UCLA. In 1994, he co-curated the first season of Korean films to be screened in Australia. He currently teashes Cinema Studies at La Trobe University in Mellbourne, Austrailia.


BYUN Young Joo
Born in 1966, she studied Law at Ehwa Women's University and Film at Chung-Ang University. She made a full-length documantary film <The Murmuring-A Woman Being in Asia 2>(1995).
